About the Rhythms & Roots Podcast

Rhythms & Roots is where faith and fitness meet. Each episode explores how spiritual formation and physical health come together to shape a life that’s rooted in Christ and resilient for the journey ahead.

The 3 Pillars of Rhythms and Roots

Spiritual Rhythms, Physical Rhythms, and Rooted Living—invite us to nurture our faith, steward our bodies, and live fully anchored in Christ’s love. Together, they form a framework for whole-life formation.

1. Spiritual Rhythms – The daily habits and practices that root us in Christ. These episodes explore disciplines like prayer, Scripture, Sabbath, and silence—practices that shape us for joy and depth in our walk with God.

2. Physical Rhythms – Stewarding the body as a gift and act of worship. We’ll talk about endurance, strength, nutrition, and recovery—seeing how the same rhythms that fuel physical training can also teach us about faithfulness and resilience.

3. Rooted Living – A holistic life anchored in Christ’s love. This pillar looks at how our spiritual and physical formation flows into community, relationships, purpose, and the grit it takes to live a fully formed life.

Together, these three rhythms—spiritual, physical, and rooted—create a framework for whole-life formation. Season 1 invites you into this journey, weaving Scripture, story, and practice into each episode.

The Latest Episode

What if your life is shaping you more than you realize?

Not just the major decisions…
but the small rhythms you repeat every single day.

In this solo episode of Rhythms & Roots, Donnie explores how spiritual formation is deeply connected to the way we live in our bodies, structure our days, respond to pressure, and move through the world.

Through reflections on running, endurance training, discipleship, and everyday life, this episode wrestles with a deeper question:

What does it actually mean for Jesus to be Lord?

Not merely first on a priority list…
but present over every part of life.

This conversation moves beyond surface-level spirituality and into embodied faith — where pace, attention, recovery, surrender, and daily rhythms all become part of spiritual formation.

If you’ve been feeling scattered, exhausted, disconnected, or spiritually reactive, this episode offers a slower invitation:

Transformation rarely happens all at once.
It happens through the small rhythms that shape us over time.
